Does hydrochlorothiazide reduce the likelihood of the recurrence of kidney stones?

Bottom line

HCTZ does not prevent the recurrence of symptomatic kidney stones in adults with 2 or more previous episodes. Limitations of this study include the homogenous population and the relatively high rate of nonadherence. 1b
