Sommaire
To determine the longevity of ankle arthroplasties, these researchers linked data from the United Kingdom’s joint registry and the National Health Service databases for 5562 replacements from April 2010 to December 2019. The patients were, on average, 67.8 years of age, and 60% were males. In the linked dataset, the crude survival was 98.8% at 1 year, 94.2% at 3 years, 90.2% at 5 years, and 86.2% at 10 years. Of those arthroplasties that failed, 66.7% were revised, 30.5% were fused, and 2.8% resulted in below-knee amputation.
