Amanda Whitewood is the Chief Operating Officer at IWK Health Centre, which provides quality care to women, children, youth and families in the Maritime Provinces and beyond. As a leader and executive, Amanda has more than 25 years’ experience in health care, post-secondary education and government. From 2008 to 2015, she was Vice President of Sustainability and CFO for Capital Health in Halifax. She has also held vice presidential roles with Mount Saint Vincent University and the Nova Scotia Hospital.
Amanda serves on the board of the Immigration Services Association of Nova Scotia and is the Vice Chair for the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada.
She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), and holds the peer-awarded designation of Fellow for her contributions to community and the profession. She is also a Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and a Certified Health Executive (CHE). In addition to serving on the Joule Board, Amanda is also the Joule Chair for the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee.
